“Intersex” by Megan Potter

The anticipation to recognize is human nature. This society instantly assigns identity or one becomes nonexistent and forgotten. It is proper to give a label despite the consequences that loom over it. When someone makes the choice, we cannot change it. There is no option to go against it. A name is a name and a shape is a shape. And I,— well I am what somebody said I was.

Why can’t a star be a heart?

Because somebody said so.
