Two Little Hands

Blocks fill the back of the toy truck

Two little hands pushing it along the carpet

Stopping when a block falls

Animal figurines, puppets, and hot wheels

Packed neatly in their rainbow bins

Dress up items lay on a rocking chair

A doctor outfit, a dentist, and a firefighter

Legos scattered all over the play table

Crayons, markers, and paper

flooding the floor

The play set creeks as the swing goes higher

Two little hands holding on to the rubber coated chain

Giggling and screaming and laughing until their tummy hurts

Going down the bright yellow slide

Howling when asked “do you wanna go again?”

Mac and cheese was served for dinner on a pink plate

Her two little hands wrapped around the edges of her favorite blue bib

While admired her dinosaur cup

Her parents reminded her

“You have the same ten fingers as anyone else

There are endless possibilities

To who you will be”
